PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Playing in front of the home crowd for the first time since last fall, the Pace University football team split the squad up on Friday night for the 2018 Spring Game. The Setters' defense—which donned the white uniforms—narrowly defeated the offense in a game that featured a varied scoring system.
Highlights
*On the defense side of the ball, the Setters tallied four sacks. Jerameel Taylor (Elizabeth, NJ/Elizabeth), Jah'Sheem Martin (Freeport, NY/Freeport) and Kevin Gutierrez (Huntington, NY/St. Anthony's) all found the quarterback for Pace.
*Harrison Moran-Fernandez (Union City, NJ/Union City) and Isaiah Williams (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh Free Academy) also impressed for the White Squad. Moran-Fernandez recorded a pass break-up and had nice tackle-for-loss during a red-zone drill while Williams snagged an interception during Pace's two-minute drill.
*Brenton Allen (Dunedin, FL/Dunedin) added a pass deflection for the defense, while Corey Holder (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) recovered a fumble.
*Offensively, freshman Adrian Rybaltowski (Howell, NJ/Freehold Township) snagged a team-high five catches for approximately 74 yards.
*The Setters had four different quarterbacks see action, including junior Dan Anerella (Old Bridge, NJ/Manalapan), who started all 10 games for the Blue and Gold last fall.
