Pace Men's Basketball Defeated by Saint Rose in Season Finale

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In the final game of the season, the Pace University men's basketball team was defeated by The College of Saint Rose on Tuesday night by a final margin of 84-64.

Inside the Numbers
*Pace put four in double figures on Tuesday night, with Peyton Wejnert (Point Pleasant, NJ/Southern Regional), Brandon Jacobs (Cambria Heights, NY/Long Island Lutheran), Greg Poleon (Brooklyn, NY/Abraham Lincoln / Coffeyville CC), and Kevin Seymour (Bronx, NY/Blair Academy / Central Connecticut State University) supplying most of the Setters' offense. Wejnert finished with a team-high 15 while the other three combined for 32 points.

*Wejnert finishes the season by reaching double figures in 12-straight games, ending the year as Pace's leading scorer (14.2 points per game) and second-leading rebounder (6.2 boards per game). Wejnert grabbed a team-high six boards against Saint Rose.

*Jacobs, who dished out a squad-best four assists, ends the year as the Pace leader in that category. The freshman guard averaged nearly 3.0 assists per contest during his rookie season.

*Austin Gilbertson (Etters, PA/Trinity) was also a strong performer for the Blue and Gold against the Golden Knights, finishing with nine points and a team-high four steals.

*As a team, Pace shot 42.3 percent from the field (22-of-52) and made six of their 16 attempts from beyond the arc (37.5 percent).

*On the other side, the Golden Knights made more than half of their shots from the floor, including 12-of-19 (63.2 percent) from downtown.

How it Happened
The Golden Knights controlled the tempo and momentum for almost the entirety of the contest. Saint Rose's sharp outside shooting and quick ball movement led to them holding a double-figure lead for more than 32 minutes of game time.

The Setters cut the edge to 10 early in the second half following a three-pointer from Jacobs, but Saint Rose answered with a 16-3 run that put the contest away for good.

The Setters wrap up the year with an overall record of 8-20, and an NE10 mark of 4-16.
