Pace Football Falls at No. 20 LIU Post

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Facing one of their toughest opponents this season on the road, the Pace University football team was defeated by 20th-ranked LIU Post (7-0) on Saturday by a score of 41-6. The loss shifts the Setters' record to 4-3 this season, including 3-3 inside the Northeast-10 Conference.

Going up against the best defense in the NE10, the Setters had a tough time moving the ball against the Pioneers. LIU Post entered the day leading the league in scoring defense (13.8), interceptions (11), sacks (21), and total defense (288.7 yards).

Pace's rushing attack enjoyed the most success, racking up 137 yards on 47 carries. Sophomore Kashmier Jackson (Sterling, VA/Potomac Falls) served as the top runner, picking up 50 yards on 10 attempts. Jhalen Bien-Aime (Dorchester, MA/Bridgton Academy), who broke the Setters' all-time rushing mark last week, recorded Pace's only touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter.

Defensively, freshman Eli Simmons, Jr. (Bloomfield, NJ/Bloomfield) was Pace's top tackler with six while Dustin Huseinovic (Harrison, NJ/Harrison) and Kevin Gutierrez (Huntington, NY/St. Anthony's) each recorded sacks in the game.
