WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The Pace University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match (25-19, 25-16, 29-14) at the University of New Haven on Tuesday night. The loss moves the Setters to 6-5 in the Northeast-10 Conference this season, while New Haven improves to 11-0.
Sophomore
Tatjana Calimpong-Burke (Waianae, HI/Iolani) put together the best offensive night for the Setters, registering team-highs in both hitting percentage (.545) and kills (7). She also chipped in 10 digs and a service ace.
After Calimpong-Burke, it was a host of Setters aiding the attack, with
Elien Peeters (Herdersem, Belgium/Onze Lieve Vrouwecollege), Colette Clark,
Claudia Fontanet (Bayamon, Puerto Rico/Academia Maria Reina) and
Kathleen Benson (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) each recording at least three kills. Fontanet also picked up a team-high 16 digs, while sophomore libero Danielle Libero added 14 of her own.
Sophomore
Samantha Nidini (Houston, TX/Clearlake) finished the night with 14 assists and six digs.

The Setters return home, where they hold a 7-2 record this season, for a pair of matches this weekend. Pace takes on Caldwell University on Friday night (7 p.m.) before enjoying Senior Day on Saturday against Merrimack (1 p.m.).
