Pace Women's Soccer Defeats Saint Michael's on the Road, 2-0

COLCHESTER, Vt. – The Pace University women's soccer team moved its Northeast-10 Conference record to 5-2-1 on Saturday courtesy of a 2-0 win at Saint Michael's College. The Setters are now unbeaten over their last five NE10 contests, holding a 4-0-1 record during that span.

It was a trio of seniors who led the way for the Blue and Gold. Drew Ribadeneyra (Maybrook, NY/Valley Central) and Ariel Almodovar (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) each knocked in goals, while goalkeeper Hayley Pascoal (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township) posted the shutout in net.

Pascoal recorded seven saves in the contest—including six in the second half—on the way to registering her third-straight clean sheet. She has now put together more than 300–consecutive minutes of scoreless play. Pascoal continues to lead the NE10 in both save precentage (.891) and goals-against average (0.57) this season.

Ribadeneyra sparked the Pace attack with a set-piece tally in the seventh minute of the game. The standout defender knocked in her first goal of the season on a free kick in which she knocked into the left corner of the net.

Pace held the 1-0 lead into halftime and beyond before Almodovar added the insurance goal in the 59th minute. Junior Victoria Kealy (Nutley, NJ/Nutley) picked up the assist on the play with a perfectly executed cross that Almodovar put in for her first tally of the season.

It was an impressive effort all around for the Setters, who earned eight corner kicks in the game—their highest total of the season.
