WALTHAM, Mass. – The Pace University field hockey team fought hard throughout, but could not get past the Bentley University Falcons in double overtime on Saturday afternoon at the Bentley University Turf Field in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup. Bentley grabbed a 3-2 victory after two extra periods.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Pace scored the game's opening goal when sophomore
Jenna Sanossian (Miller Place, NY/Rocky Point) netted her second of the season in the 19th minute of the game.
- Just 75 seconds into the second half, Bentley's Tess Anderson tipped in a pass from Taylor Kane to tie the game.
- Sophomore
Carly Corbett (Brewster, NY/Brewster) put Pace back on top just two minutes later after cleaning up a blocked shot from 10 yards out.
- Bentley's Tori Ellis knotted things up at 2-2 with her fourth of the season off a rebound in the 42nd minute.
- In the 90th minute of the game, Rebecca Schroder deflected a shot off the goalie and into the cage for the double-overtime winner.
PACE LEADERS
- Sanossian and Corbett each scored for the Setters.
- Sophomore
Paige Predmore (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna Township) put all three of her shots on goal in the game.
- Sophomore goalkeeper
Corrine Nocera (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville) made an impressive nine stops in her first start of the year.
BENTLEY STATS
- Ellis, Anderson and Schroder each scored for the Falcons.
- Taylor Kane registered the only assist of the game
- Goalkeeper Evelyn Schaedel made five saves in 35 minutes, but Jana Mones played the final 54:17 and grabbed the win after stopping two shots.

WHAT'S NEXT?
- Pace returns home on Tuesday, Sept. 27, to host Merrimack College in NE-10 action at Peter X. Finnerty Field at 6 p.m.
- Pace will take to the road for a non-conference matchup on Thursday, Sept. 29, when the Setters visit No. 7 LIU Post. The game is set to begin at 4 p.m.
