PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University women's basketball team never trailed on Saturday, rolling to a 74-58 victory over Post University in a non-conference matchup at the Goldstein Fitness Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1ST QUARTER
- The Setters opened the game on a 9-2 run, which was capped off with a layup by senior
Aurellia Cammock (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore / Iona College) at the 6:23 minute mark.
- Pace continued to play aggressively and opened up a double-digit lead with 2:11 remaining in the first quarter after graduate student
Jaclyn Oskam (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central / Quinnipiac University) connected on a three to give the Setters a 20-9 advantage over the Eagles.
- Post came alive in the final two minutes of the first, going on a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to 20-16 as Deaisia Acklin closed the quarter with a fast-break jump shot with 27 seconds remaining.
2ND QUARTER
- Pace continued its strong post play and went on an 8-3 run to start the second quarter, as senior
Kirsten Dodge (Fabius, NY/Fabius-Pompey) drained two free throws at the 5:56 minute mark for a 28-19 advantage.
- A little over a minute later, the Setters took a double-digit lead again on a triple by senior
Christina Rubin (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic / Iona College), her second of the period after stepping onto the court for the first time this season.

Christina Rubin (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic / Iona College)'s three began a 15-5 run for the Setters for the remainder of the first half, and Pace went into the locker room with a 43-26 lead over Post.
HALFTIME STATS
- Dodge led the Setters at the break with nine points and added four rebounds, while junior
Gabriella Rubin (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) had five points and led Pace with seven rebounds and two steals.
- Acklin went into halftime with nine points and three rebounds to lead Post.
3RD QUARTER
- Post came out with a new energy and scored six straight points to chip away at the Setters' lead, making it a 43-32 game with 7:16 minutes left in the third after a layup by Nicole Sheloski.
- Freshman
Italee Brown-Smikle (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) drained a three to give the Setters their first points of the second half with 6:42 remaining in the third.
- Pace maintained its double-digit lead for the majority of the third until Post's Lexus Childs-Harris split two free throws, leaving Pace up, 51-42, with 3:05 until the fourth quarter.
- Dodge scored the last basket of the third quarter, draining a free throw to wrap up a three-point play, and Pace went into the final frame with a 54-46 lead over Post.
4TH QUARTER
- The Setters played with the aggression and the heavy post play they had earlier in the game, and started off the fourth quarter with a 12-0 run, capped off when sophomore
Heather Kiczek (Wallkill, NY/Wallkill) made both shots from the charity stripe to push the Setters lead to 66-44.
- Acklin finished a layup with 33 seconds remaining in regulation, but it was not enough to overcome the Setters' strong play throughout the final frame, and Pace closed the game with a 14-point victory over the Eagles.
SETTER STATS
- Dodge finished with a team-high 12 points and game-best eight rebounds, while also tying the game-high with two rejections.
- Sophomore
Alexandra Monteleone (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) scored 11 points and added two rebounds.
- Kiczek scored 10 points and grabbed two rebounds in just eight minutes of play.

Gabriella Rubin (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) and Oskam both finished just behind Dodge with seven rebounds apiece.

Christina Rubin (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic / Iona College) scored six points on a pair of threes, and pulled down two boards in her first game of the season.
POST LEADERS
- Acklin led all scorers with 21 points and grabbed three boards.
- Gabriela Middleton tallied two points, tied for a team-best five rebounds and had a game-high five assists.
- Tyra Jones register nine points, three rebounds and matched Dodge two blocks.

WHAT'S NEXT?
- Pace welcomes American International College for a home Northeast-10 Conference matchup to be played at the Civic Center Gym on the Pace NYC campus on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 5:30 p.m.
- The Setters then return to the Goldstein Fitness Center for a non-conference game against Molloy College on Friday, Dec. 2 at 11 a.m for Court to the Classroom Day.
