Pace Football Opens 2013 Preseason Camp

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace Football team opened up their 2013 preseason camp with a high amount of optimism heading into the 2013 season. Eight starters return on offense for the Setters including a pair of Northeast-10 All-Conference selections while a talented class of freshman enters the fold. According to Head Coach Chris Dapolito, "I couldn't be more excited about our program than I am right now. Our coaching staff did a great job of recruiting a talented freshman class of guys who can make an immediate impact on the field.  We have seasoned veterans on both sides of the ball and great leadership. This is a great time for Pace Football!"

Returners:

Jordan Raynor (Sr., QB, 6-2, 220, Browns Mills, NJ/Pemberton) 2012 Stats: 146-280 (52.1%), 1,505 yards, 8 TD, four games of 200+ yards passing.

Matt Tarpley (Gr., WR, 5-10, 175, Plymouth, MN/Wayzata/University of Mississippi): 930 all-purpose yards, 47 receptions, 500 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD.

Blair Wynn (Jr., RB, 5-10, 205, Englewood, NJ/St. Joseph Regional): 349 rushing yards, 2 rushing TD.

Luiz Ribeiro (So., TE, 6-2, 225, White Plains, NY/White Plains): Northeast-10 Conference All-Rookie Team, 12 receptions, 117 yards.

Cameron Davis (Jr., WR, 5-10, 170, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL/Providence School): 25 receptions, 294 yards, 2 receiving TD.

Terrell Price (So., OL, 6-6, 240, New York, NY/Cardinal Hayes): Northeast-10 Conference All-Rookie Team, started all nine games at Left Tackle.

Connor Oglesby (Jr., OL, 6-3, 260, Ridge, NY/Longwood): Started all nine games at Right Tackle.

Newcomers on the rise:

Olajuwon Swearinger (So., DE, 6-0, 270, Capitol Heights, MD/St. John's College High School/Savannah State University): Led D-I Savannah State with 3.5 sacks in 2012, made 25 tackles including five TFL, Had 2.5 sacks at Morgan State.

Sam Benoit (Fr., CB, 6-0, 174, Naples, FL/Golden Gate): All-Conference selection, County All-Star.

Delaney Wallace (Fr., RB, 5-9, 190, Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown): Led Moorestown in scoring as a senior, Second Team All-Conference, three varsity letters in football, three Football Iron Man Awards.

Important Dates
The Setters open the season with two road games, at Alderson-Broaddus on September 7 at noon and at New Haven on September 14 at 1 pm. Pace has their home opener on September 21 at 1 pm against American International. Homecoming is slated for October 26 at 1 pm against Assumption with the regular season finale at home against Saint Anselm November 9 at 1 pm. Also highlighting the schedule is the October 12 game against Bentley where it is Take A Kid To The Game Day. Other promotional days include "Pace Goes Pink" and Senior Day.
