MANCHESTER, N.H.- The Setters fell to the Hawks of Saint Anselm College 101-54 in Northeast-10 Conference action. Pace falls to 7-7 overall and 4-6 in the NE-10, while the Hawks improve to 12-2 overall and 8-2 in conference play.
The Hawks opened the game with a 19-4 lead in the first five minutes of the contest. Pace answered with a 13-2 run to slice the score down to four points at 21-17 at the midway point of the half. Keon Williams (Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack/Iona College) (Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack/Iona College) and Denzel Primus-Devonish (Riverdale, MD/St. John's College) (Riverdale, MD/St. John's College) each scored four points, while Salvatore Vitello (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) capped the rally with a trifecta.
Saint Anselm netted the next 11 points to take a 32-17 lead and held a 48-30 advantage at the break. The Hawks maintained their lead into the second half as they shot 64% from the field and 52 % from downtown for the game.
For Pace, Primus-Devonish led the Setters with 13 points and four assists, while Jonathan Merceus (Union, NJ/Union) (Union, NJ/Union) added 12 points, three rebounds and three steals. Williams totaled nine points and a team-high seven rebounds, while Jaylen Mann (Youngstown, OH/Liberty) netted 10 points off the bench.
The Setters are back in action on Saturday, January 19 as they will host UMass Lowell at 3:30 pm at the Goldstein Fitness Center in a Northeast-10 Conference match-up.
