Women's Soccer Rallies to Tie Wilmington

BRIARCLIFF, N.Y.- The Setters rallied back with a late goal to tie Wilmington University 1-1 in non-conference action. Pace moves to 0-1-2, while the Wildcats are now 0-2-1 on the season.

Both teams battled through the first half as the Setters and the Wildcats has opportunities to get the scoreboard. Pace saw their chances come late in the half Wilmington's Amanda Walters recorded her four first half saves in the final 14 minutes. Courtany Hagen (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) recorded three saves in the opening half as the teams went to halftime in a scoreless tie.

Wilmington struck first early in the second half to take a 1-0 lead. The Setters had several scoring chances and finally netted the equalizer with 1:59 left in regulation. Senior Allyson Dyl (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) booted in a corner kick to the box and Reid Coffey (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa/Mercy College) (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa/Mercy College) scored the game-tying tally. The teams headed to a pair of overtime periods as the team combined for five corner kicks but the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Hagen finished with three saves in the game, while freshman Leslie Robertson (Wassaic, NY/Webutuck) played for 45 minutes and recorded a save.

The Setters open up Northeast-10 Conference play this weekend as they will travel to Stonehill College on Saturday, September 8 for 12 pm game.
