Setters Rally Past Hawks With Two Second Half Goals

MANCHESTER, N.H.- The Setters rallied with a pair of goals in the second as they defeated the Hawks of Saint Anselm College 2-1 in Northeast-10 Conference action. Pace improves to 3-2-3 overall and 3-1-1 in the NE-10, while Saint Anselm drops to 1-5-1 and 0-4-1 in conference play.

The Hawks struck early in the opening half to take a 1-0 lead. The Setters rallied in the second half as Brittany Trymbulak (South Glastonbury, CT/Glastonbury) (South Glastonbury, CT/Glastonbury) netted her first collegiate goal off an assist from Amanda Mundorf (Westfield, MA/Westfield) (Westfield, MA/Westfield) in the 58th minute to knot the score at one. Pace got the go-ahead goal six minutes later as Jillian Ferro (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) (Warwick, NY/Warwick) scored off a Kayla Surrusco (Coram, NY/Longwood) (Coram, NY/Longwood) assist to put the Setters up 2-1.

The Setters held on down the stretch as the Hawks had two shots hit the cross bar and another hitting the post, while Setter goalie Courtany Hagen (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) recorded a save in the waning seconds to preserve the victory. Hagen finished with 10 saves in the contest.

The Setters are back in action on Wednesday, September 26 as they will host nationally ranked College of Saint Rose Golden Knights in Northeast-10 Conference action at Pace Field at 4 pm.
