Women's Soccer Pulls Out Thrilling Win Over AIC

BRIARCLIFF, N.Y.-The Setters took the win late in the game over the Yellow Jackets of American International College, 1-0.  The Setters advance to 1-2-2 overall and 1-1-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while AIC falls to 1-2-1 overall and 0-1-1 in conference play.

The Yellow Jackets out-shot Pace 10-2 with shots on goal in the first half.  Courtany Hagen (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) made two saves in the scoreless first half, while AIC goal-keeper, Amber McLeen recorded one.

The Setters came out stronger for the second-half, holding more dominance in AIC territory.  After 86:04 minutes of an intense back-and-forth match, Geena Kooner (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay) (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay) took a shot on goal, which reflected off the goalie to be followed up by Kristiana Padavona (Howard Beach, NY/Fontbonne Hall Academy) for the Setter's only goal of the game, and her first of the season.  The Yellow Jackets were unable to answer in the last three minutes of regulation.  Hagen spent 90 minutes in goal and finished with four saves.

The Setters host a conference match-up against Merrimack on Saturday, September 15 at 3:30 pm for Youth Day at Pace Field in Briarcliff.
