SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The Setters dropped a Northeast-10 Conference twin bill to the Yellow Jackets of American International College, losing 4-0 and 3-0 in the nightcap. Pace falls to 21-13 overall and 9-11 in the NE-10, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 12-18 and 8-12 in conference play.
The Setters were limited to four hits on the day as with Nicole Schultheis (Plainview, NY/Bethpage) (Plainview, NY/Bethpage) posting a single in each game for Pace. In the opener, Caitlin McCann (San Mateo, CA/Notre Dame) (San Mateo, CA/Notre Dame) fell to 7-4 on the season as she tossed four innings, allowing four runs on five hits, while striking out two. Kayla Hill (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison High School) (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) pitched two scoreless innings in relief. In the nightcap, Chelsea Shea (Babylon, NY/West Babylon) (Babylon, NY/West Babylon) saw her record fall to 3-4 as she tossed five innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, while striking out two. Colby Hochmuth (Delanson, NY/Duanesburg) pitched a scoreless final inning as she allowed one hit. .
The Setters are back in action on Friday, April 13 when Pace will travel to Orangeburg, NY for a non-conference doubleheader against Dominican College at 3 pm.
