WINTER PARK, Fla.- The Setters fell to the Falcons of Bentley University in non-conference action 7-0. Pace falls to 4-3 overall, while Bentley improves to 3-9 on the season.
Michael Tamburino (Baldwin, NY/Holy Trinity) (Baldwin, NY/Holy Trinity) allowed a first inning run as the score remained 1-0 in favor of Bentley for seven innings. The Falcons took advantage of two Pace errors in the eighth as the pushed across five in the frame and added one more in the ninth.
Tamburino (1-1) tossed 7 1/3 innings, allowing four runs (one earned), while striking out five. Jonathan Chudy (Goshen, NY/Goshen) (Goshen, NY/Goshen) and Neil Pezzullo (Harwich, MA/Harwich) (Harwich, MA/Harwich) both pitched 1/3 of an inning and each allowed an unearned run. Robert Perez (Bronx, NY/Trinity Pawling) (Bronx, NY/Trinity Pawling) pitched the final inning and struck out one. Chris Roemer (Ardsley, NY/Ardsley) went 2-for-4 for the Setters at the plate in the game.
The Setters return to action on Tuesday, March 12 when Pace will take on Stonehill at 11 am at Rollins College.
