BRIARCLIFF, N.Y.- The Setters fell in their season finale to the Purple Knights of Saint Michael's College 3-1 in Northeast-10 Conference action. Pace finishes their 2012 season with a record of 5-10-3 and 5-9-1 in the NE-10, while Saint Michael's completes their season with a 4-11-2 overall record and 4-9-2 in conference play.
Saint Michael's struck early in the game as they pushed across a pair of first half goals. Katie Butler scored in the second minute of play, while Olivia Biron netted one in the 26th minutes to give the Purple Knights a 2-0 lead at halftime.
The Purple Knights added a goal early in the second half as Butler netted her second tally of the game. The Setters broke through in the 63rd minute as Amanda Mundorf (Westfield, MA/Westfield) (Westfield, MA/Westfield) chipped the ball into Kristiana Padavona (Howard Beach, NY/Fontbonne Hall Academy) (Howard Beach, NY/Fontbonne Hall Academy) who scored to put Pace on the board. The Setters had a couple scoring opportunities late in the game but failed to net another goal.
Setter goalie Courtany Hagen (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) finished with seven saves in the game.
Prior to the game, Pace Athletics honored its five graduating seniors in Allyson Dyl (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) (Kearny, NJ/Kearny), Hagen, Olivia Mapplethorpe (Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug Regional) (Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug Regional), Meghan Tremblay (Shrub Oak, NY/Lakeland) (Shrub Oak, NY/Lakeland) and Seanna Wright (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington). Dyl played in 70 games during her Pace career and finished tenth in school history with 35 points and fifth in assists with 13. She is getting her Childhood Education Masters in Special Education in the School of Education and has a 3.66 GPA. Hagen logged off 5,500 minutes in goal for her four years at Pace and ends her career as the all-time leader in saves with 445. She is a Marketing major in the Lubin School of Business and has a 3.66 GPA. Mapplethorpe is also a four-year player for the Setters and played in 70 games, totaling nine goals, two assists for 20 points. She is a Communications major in the Dyson College of Arts and Science with a Journalism minor and has a 3.46 GPA. Tremblay played in 68 games in her four seasons in a Pace uniform, finishing with five goals, three assists for 13 points. She is a Childhood Education major in the School of Education with a GPA of 3.13. Wright played for four seasons for the Setters as she played in 53 games totaling four goals, two assists for 10 points. She is a Psychology major in the Dyson College of Arts and Science and has a 3.67 GPA.
