SETTERS FUMBLE AGAINST BENTLEY UNIVERSITY

Waltham, MA- The Pace Setters lost Saturday afternoon to the Falcons of Bentley University by a score of 73-61. The Setters fell to 16-5 overall, and 10-5 in conference action while Bentley improved to 16-3 overall, and 13-2 in the NE-10.

Pace did not get out to an early jump on the Falcons as they had hoped for. After trading baskets in the first minute Bentley would go on an 11 point run to around the 13 minute mark in the first half, 13-2. By the halfway mark the Setters would still be down by 11 points, 19-8. Things really did not get much better for Pace. By the end of the first period Bentley continued its form leading by an 11 point margin, 37-26.

The second half continued to favor the Falcons however the Setters would not go lightly. In the first three minutes of the second period with the score at 42-32, Pace would go on a five point run narrowing the Falcon lead to 42-37. Unfortunately for the Setters that was about as close as they would come to taking the lead. Bentley finished the game ahead of the Setters by 12 points, 73-61.

Performing well for Pace despite the loss was Brittany Huggins (Windsor, CT/Windsor) (Windsor, CT/Windsor) with 18 total points, and three rebounds. Also shining for the Setters was Brittany Shields (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) with a double-double scoring 16 points, and pulling down an impressive 15 rebounds. She also recorded four assists.
