SETTERS CRUISE TO 14TH WIN ON THE SEASON OVER SAINT ANSELM

MANCHESTER, N.H.- The Setters opened the game with a 16-5 lead on their way to posting their 14th victory of the season with a 63-41 win over Saint Anselm College. Pace improves to 14-2 overall and 8-2 in the Northeast-10, while the Hawks drop to 6-8 and 3-7 in conference play.

Pace opened the game with a 7-0 lead, eventually leading by as much as 11 in the opening period at 16-5 at the 14-minute mark. Brittany Huggins (Windsor, CT/Windsor) (Windsor, CT/Windsor) scored 12 points, while Brittany Shields (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) netted seven points in the first half as the Setters took a 33-25 lead into the break.

The Setters pulled away to open the second half as Pace used a 17-5 run to start the half to build a 20-point lead at 50-30. Lisa Welsome (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) knocked down a pair of three-pointers in the run, while Shields tallied seven points to lead the rally. Pace would lead by as much as 23 points and cruised to the finish.

Pace was led Huggins as she finished with 19 points and five boards. Shields tallied 18 points, six rebounds and five assists. Welsome totaled eight points, five boards, four assists and a pair of steals.  

The Setters return to action on Saturday, January 15 when Pace will host Saint Michael's College for a Northeast-10 Conference game at 1:30 pm.
