WASHINGTON SCORES PAIR OF TOUCHDOWNS AS SETTERS FALL IN SEASON FINALE

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- Jason Washington (Bronx, N.Y./Mamaroneck/Iona College) (Bronx, NY/Mamaroneck/Iona College) scored a pair of touchdowns, one on a kickoff return and the other on the ground as the Setter dropped their season finale to Merrimack College 46-14. The Setters end their season at 0-9 and 0-7 in the NE-10, while the Warriors finish their season 4-6, 4-4 in conference play.

The Setters opened the scoring late in the first quarter as Washington capped off a 10-play, 62 yard with an 8-yard run to put Pace up 7-0. The Warriors would answer with four touchdowns as James Suozzo would toss a pair of touchdowns. Suozzo would also run for another score, while Michael Wheeler scored from eight-yards out as Merrimack would pull ahead 26-7 with 35 seconds left in the first half.

Washington would take the ensuing kickoff 87-yards for his second kickoff return touchdown in as many weeks as the Setters pulled to within 26-14 at the break.

Merrimack would pull away in the third quarter as Suozzo three a pair of long touchdowns to Isaiah Voegeli, while Jimon Hill rushed for another to account for Merrimack's points on the day.

For Pace, Washington had another big day as he accounted for 313 all-purpose yard on the afternoon, with 212 coming on kick returns. Quarterback Jordan Raynor (Browns Mills, N.J./Pemberton) (Browns Mills, NJ/Pemberton) tossed for 232 yards on 20-31 passing. Patrick Lupfer (Mineola, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) (Mineola, NY/Kellenberg) led the receivers with six catches for 73 yards. Eric Ortega (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's Boys) (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) caught three passes for 47 yards in his final collegiate game.

On defense, David Lopez (Ozone Park, N.Y./Christ the King) (Ozone Park, NY/Christ the King) led the Setters with eight tackles, while Jonfrey Sanchez (Bogota, N.J./Bogota) (Bogota, NJ/Bogota) and Vincent Romano (Davenport, NY/Oneonta) each recorded seven tackles. Duval Zimmerman (Waterbury, CT/Wilby) posted six tackles along with a pass break-up.
