FOOTBALL ANNOUNCES 2007 RECRUITING CLASS

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- Pace Head Football Coach Mike Iezzi has announced a record-breaking incoming recruiting class for the 2007 season. The list includes 41 student-athletes who have committed to be a part of Pace's 2011 class. The incoming class includes top talent from New York, New Jersey, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, Georgia, Florida, and California. With more recruits expected to sign in the coming weeks, Coach Iezzi and his staff are optimistic about the 2007 season and beyond.

Matthew Arciero, OL/DL, Staten Island, NY (Staten Island Tech) 6'3" 250 lbs.

Coach I on Matt: Matt is a hard worker, a competitor, and is quick and agile for his size.  He is a welcome addition to either our offensive or defensive line.

Shaine Artis, OL, Durham, ME (Brunswick) 6'4" 305 lbs.

Coach I on Shaine: Shaine has the size and athletic ability to be a force on the offensive line, and our staff looks forward to having him on our offensive line.

Charles Bachelder, DE, Melrose, MA (Bridgton Academy) 6'3" 215 lbs.

Coach I on Charles: Charlie is an athletic defensive end. He is an excellent run defender and pass rusher.  A decorated football player, Charlie played in the Agannis All Star Game at Melrose High School.

Colin Brady, OT, Northport, NY (Northport) 6'5" 250 lbs.

Coach I on Colin: Colin is a natural offensive tackle, and he could anchor our line for years to come with his size and talent.  We expect big things from Colin.

Lyndell Brown, DB, Binghamton, NY (Binghamton) 6'1" 175 lbs.

Coach I on Lyndell: Lyndell has all of the tools to become a shutdown cornerback in the Northeast 10.  He is a great competitor and will help our secondary right away.

Ryan Burke, WR, Haskell, NJ (Lakeland Regional) 6'1" 175 lbs.

Coach I on Ryan: An All-North Jersey player Ryan is a talented receiver who leaves it all out on the field.  He is a great blocker for a receiver, and can also make big plays with the football. 

Nicholas Campo, QB, Amsterdam, NY (Amsterdam) 6'3" 210 lbs.

Coach I on Nicholas: Nick is a smart quarterback who can control the game with both his arm and his feet.  He will add needed depth to our quarterback position.

Jesus Cardona, LB, Brooklyn, NY (Xaverian) 5'11" 205 lbs.

Coach I on Jesus: Jesus is a nightmare for opposing coaches, and his blend of speed, strength, and intangibles give him the ability to contribute for our defense right away. 

Daniel Carpenter, TE/OT, Hackettstown, NJ (Hackettstown) 6'6" 240 lbs.

Coach I on Daniel: Daniel is a smart, hard working football player who has the size and athleticism to play either tight end or offensive line for the Setters.

Raymond Carrasco, WR/DB, Bogota, NJ (Bogota) 6'2" 185 lbs.

Coach I on Raymond: A Second Team Group One receiver, Ray has a great mix of speed and size, and will add depth to either our wide receivers or our defensive backfield.

Andrew Colombo, DL, Brewster, NY (Brewster) 6'2" 295 lbs.

Coach I on Andrew: Andrew is a big, strong presence on the defensive line, and possesses great intelligence both on and off the field.  He will help the Setters at the Noseguard position.

Trevor Countryman, RB, Lansing, NY (Lansing) 5'11" 190 lbs.

Coach I on Trevor: Trevor is a quick runner who has great vision and balance and can run the ball inside or outside.  He is a great addition to the Setter backfield.

Quintyn Eldridge, RB/DB, Lutz, FL (Hillsborough CC) 5'9" 210 lbs.

Coach I on Quintyn: Quintyn is a Junior College transfer who is a strong, physical runner.  He has an outstanding work ethic, and will bring quickness and intelligence to our backfield.

Vincent Fields, WR, Egg Harbor Township, NJ (Egg Harbor Township) 6'3" 205 lbs.

Coach I on Vincent: Vincent was a Second Team Group 4 wide receiver in high school. He will help our offense both as a deep threat and over the middle as a pass catcher.  We are excited to see Vince in a Setter uniform this fall. 

Patrick Finnegan, DE, Hazlet, NJ (Raritan) 6'2" 215 lbs.

Coach I on Patrick: Patrick is a tough, hard-nosed player who has a great motor.  His work ethic and tenacity on the field will help bring depth to our defensive front.

Joey Graboff, DL, Cornwall, NY (Cornwall) 6'3" 240 lbs.

Coach I on Joey:  Joey is smart, athletic and tough.  He is a versatile football player, and he will help bolster the Setters D-line as both a DT and DE.

Marcuss Hass, WR, Montepelier, VT (U-32) 6'4" 205 lbs.

Coach I on Marcuss: Marcuss is a wide receiver coach's dream.  His blend of size, speed, and skill make Marcuss a playmaking threat for us who can contribute the minute he comes into camp. 

Max Katzner, LB, Bogota, NJ (Bogota) 6'1" 225 lbs.

Coach I on Max: Max is a great downhill linebacker who plays the game with passion and emotion.  He led his high school team to a New Jersey state Championship, and will bring depth to the Setter's inside linebacker position.

Daniel Keegan, OL, Wading River, NY (Shoreham-Wading River) 6'1" 235 lbs.

Coach I on Daniel: Daniel is a very versatile lineman who can play both Center and Guard for the Setters.  His great footwork and knowledge of the game make him a great asset to our offensive line.

John Lazar, DL, Matawan, NJ (Matawan) 5'10" 235 lbs.

Coach I on John: John is a scholar-athlete who will bring a great work ethic and toughness to our defensive front. 

Vincent Maglione, OL/DL, Iselin, NJ (JFK Memorial) 6'5" 230 lbs.

Coach I on Vincent: Vincent is a great athlete for his size, and can play on both sides of the line as well as tight end.  Our staff is looking forward to working with Vince, and he will be an asset wherever he plays next season.

Taylor McGinnis, DB, Monroe, NY (Washingtonville) 5'10" 195 lbs.

Coach I on Taylor: Taylor is a defensive back who loves to hit, and he can also be an asset in coverage.  Our secondary will benefit from Taylor's presence next season.

Tory McPhilamy, DT, Marietta GA (Pope) 5'11" 245 lbs.

Coach I on Tory: Tory is a great asset to our program, and his presence will aid us in recruiting nationally for years to come.  He is extremely strong and tough, and has the skill set to compete for playing time right away on our defensive line.

Christopher Meinhardt, QB, Warwick, NY (Warwick) 6'1" 195 lbs.

Coach I on Chris:  Chris is a leader at the quarterback position, and his arm, legs, and instincts are all weapons that he can use to beat a defense.  Chris is one of many quality young quarterbacks in the Setter football program.

AJ Moskus, WR/QB, Irvine, CA (Orange Coast College) 6'3" 190 lbs.

Coach I on AJ:  AJ is junior college transfer from Orange Coast College in California.  He is athletic and versatile.  In 2006, he had 23 receptions for 343 yards and 3 TD's.  As a senior QB at University HS, AJ threw for 1,300 yds and 10 TD's.  He also rushed for 380 yards and 9 TD's.

Brian Murray, OT, Newfield, NY (Newfield Central) 6'4" 250 lbs.

Coach I on Brian: A Division 8 All-Star, Brian is a technician on the offensive line.  He plays with great feet and great leverage, and will compete for playing time immediately. 

Connor Pacillo, OT, Holmdel, NJ (Holmdel) 6'5" 300 lbs.

Coach I on Connor: Connor was a physical presence in high school, and he has the potential to be a force in college.  He has a bright future on the Setter's offensive line. 

Richard Peter, TE/DE, Hackettstown, NJ (Hackettstown) 6'3" 185 lbs.

Coach I on Richard: An All-Conference player Richard is another versatile, athletic football player that can help us offensively and defensively. 

Peter Pezzano, DT/DE, Melrose, MA (Bridgeton Academy) 6'3" 240 lbs.

Coach I on Peter: Peter is another player from Bridgeton that will give our defensive front an immediate impact.  He is a strong, physical player and has great instincts. 

Jordan Rutherford, RB, Belchertown, MA (Belchertown) 5'9" 170 lbs.

Coach I on Jordan:  Jordan has great vision and athleticism for a running back, and will be a welcome addition to the Setter backfield.

Jonfrey Sanchez, LB, Bogota, NJ (Bogota) 6' 210 lbs.

Coach I on Jonfrey: A Second Team Group One linebacker, Jonfrey is a throwback type player, with great tenacity and he can really hit.  He will add depth to our linebackers next season. 

Stephen Shepard, OL/DL, Lindenhurst, NY (Lindenhurst) 5'11" 225 lbs.

Coach I on Stephen: Stephen is another kid who just loves to hit.  His physical play will help the Setters on the offensive or defensive line.

Nicholas Smith, OT, Chicopee, MA (Bridgton Academy) 6'5" 320 lbs.

Coach I on Nick. Nick is an impact player and should contribute immediately to the Setter O-Line.  Nick is a big, strong guard and provides much needed size to our offensive front.

Albert Walden, DB, Cliffwood, NJ (Matawan) 6' 195 lbs.

Coach I on Albert: Albert is an athletic, playmaking safety that will add depth to the Setter defensive backfield as well as on special teams. 

Matthew Wieber, DT, Westhampton, NY (Westhampton Beach) 5'11" 265 lbs.

Coach I on Matthew: Matt is another tough, competitive football player who will be able to add depth to our defensive front.

Kevin Woerderman, LB, New Windsor, NY (Cornwall) 6'2" 210 lbs.

Coach I on Kevin.  Kevin is strong and athletic, and is versatile enough to help the Setters at inside and outside LB.

Anthony Zambito, QB/DB, Point Pleasant, NJ (St. John Vianney) 6' 185 lbs.

Coach I on Anthony: Anthony is an athletic player who is very versatile.  He can be a dual-threat quarterback for us or give us depth in our secondary.
