Freshman Nianzhong Liu was named NE-10 Men's Rookie of the Week twice in November. He has rewritten the record books during his short time at Pace. He currently holds a share of six school records, three individual times and three as part of a relay team. He kicked off the month against Adelphi where he clocked a pair of first-place times in individual races. He won the 100-yard individual medley and the 100-yard breaststroke with times of 55.53 and 1:01.38, respectively. The very next day against Misericordia, Liu picked up three more first place finishes. He won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:12.31 before touching first in a pair of freestyle events. He won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:46.41 before ending the day with a 49.02 finish in the 100-yard freestyle. The month came to a close with four more first place finishes in individual races. He took first in the 500-yard freestyle against Staten Island after swimming a time of 5:01.17 and first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.06 in a double-dual meet against Rowan and Saint Peter’s. The final two top finishes came against New Paltz where he clocked first in both the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard breaststroke with times of 1:58.92 and 1:00.39, respectively.
