As has become expected of his starts this season, Wirchansky was dominant on the mound Thursday, shutting down the offense of fifth-ranked New Haven. The junior lefty went a full nine innings against the Chargers, allowing one run on three hits and four walks while striking out 12. It was the fourth time this season that Wirchansky struck out 10 or more batters, bringing his season total to a conference-leading 63. His ERA now sits at 0.71, the second-lowest amongst the NE10.
