WEST HAVEN, Conn.- The Pace football team dropped a Northeast-10 Conference game to the Chargers of the University of New Haven 63-6. The Setters fall to 1-8 overall and 0-7 in the NE-10, while the Chargers improve to 9-1 and 7-0 in conference play.
New Haven got on the board as they scored on the opening kickoff, while quarterback Ryan Osiecki tossed a pair of first half touchdowns as the Chargers led 42-0 at halftime.
The Setters would score midway through the third quarter as freshman running back Blair Wynn (Englewood, NJ/St. Joseph) capped a 7-play, 74-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown run. Wynn had a solid day rushing as he finished with 60 yards on the ground on 20 carries.
Eric Santos (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) (Huntington, NY/Huntington) also rushed for 52 yards on nine carries, while Patrick Lupfer (Mineola, NY/Kellenberg Memorial) (Mineola, NY/Kellenberg) rushed for 33 yards and also caught two passes for 31 yards. The defense was led by Vincent Romano (Davenport, NJ/Oneonta) who finished with 11 tackles.
The Setters return to action for their season finale on Saturday, November 12 when Pace will host American International College at Pace Field for Senior Day at 12 pm.
