PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- Senior Eric Santos (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) (Huntington, NY/Huntington) rushed for 123 yards and one touchdown as the Setters fell 54-6 to American International in Pace's season finale. The Setters end the season at 1-9 and 0-8 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while the Yellow Jackets finish at 6-4 and 5-3 in conference play.
American International took an early 12-0 on a pair of Bryant Fitzgerald rushing touchdown in the opening quarter. Pace answered in the second quarter as Santos capped a 58-yard Pace drive with a two-yard rushing touchdown early in the third quarter.
The Yellow Jackets added to their lead as quarterback Kevin Arduino rushed for a touchdown and tossed for two more as American International led 38-6 at the break. Arduino would throw his third touchdown of the day in the third quarter, while Fitzgerald added rushing touchdowns to account for the finals points on the day.
Santos finished the season as the team leader with 349 rushing yards for the season. On defense side of the ball, David Lopez (Ozone Park, N.Y./Christ the King) had another big day totaling 13 tackles, and one forced fumble as he finished with 101 tackles for the season.
