PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- The Pace University Football team dropped a 28-0 decision to the Falcons of Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference match-up. The teams played in near white-out conditions as a rare October snow storm blanketed the field of play from the opening kick-off. The Setters fall to 1-7 overall and 0-6 in the NE-10, while the Falcons improve to 5-4, and 4-3 in conference play.
The weather played a factor from the beginning as snow began to fall well before the opening kickoff. The game featured seven fumbles between the two teams with only two being lost as the conditions deteriorated throughout the game.
Bentley would find the end zone on their first four possessions of the game as Bryant Johnson tossed three touchdowns, while running back Jack Pizzotti scored on a short touchdown run late in the second quarter. Wade Critides caught two touchdowns for the Falcons.
Eric Santos (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) (Huntington, NY/Huntington) finished with 37 yards on the ground for the Setters. On defense, three players totaled 10 tackles as Ryan Cuffe (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's), Vincent Romano (Davenport, N.Y./Oneonta) (Davenport, NY/Oneonta) and David Lopez (Ozone Park, N.Y./Christ the King) led the Setters in tackles on the day.
The Setters return to action as they will travel to West Haven, CT on Saturday, November 5 to take on the University of New Haven in a Northeast-10 Conference game at 1 pm.
