EASTON, Mass.- The Pace football team dropped a Northeast-10 Conference game to the Skyhawks of Stonehill College 49-0. The Setters fall to 1-5 overall and 0-4 in the NE-10, while the Skyhawks improve to 2-5 and 1-3 in conference play.
Stonehill jumped out to an early lead as running back Jeremtrius Troy rushed for four first half touchdowns that allowed Stonehill to build a 42-0 lead at halftime.
The Skyhawks added to their lead late in the fourth quarter on a rushing touchdown for the final points of the day.
For Pace, Eric Santos (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) (Huntington, NY/Huntington) rushed for 61 yards on 11 carries, while freshman Blair Wynn (Englewood, NJ/St. Joseph) ran for 53 yards on the day. The defense was led by Vincent Romano (Davenport, NJ/Oneonta), who finished with 10 tackles.
The Setters return to action on Saturday, October 22 when Pace will host Saint Anselm at Pace Field for Homecoming 2011 at 1 pm.
