PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – A day after posting 14 saves in a road win over Franklin Pierce,
Robert Beshlian (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh) of the Pace University men's lacrosse team was named to the USILA's National Player of the Year Watchlist on Wednesday morning.
Beshlian, a preseason All-America selection, has been superb between the pipes for the Setters this season. The senior, who has posted double-digit stops in 10-of-11 games, is currently slotted second in the NE10 in save percentage (58.9) and third in the conference in stops per game (12.4). He has allowed single-digit goals in six games, including a season-low one tally against versus AIC.
Beshlian's best performances this season came in a 17-save effort in a 12-7 win over LIU Post and a 16-stop effort in a 12-4 triumph over Saint Michael's. Over his stellar Pace tenure, Beshlian has totaled 28 wins and 486 saves, sitting with a career save percentage of 56.9.
Beshlian and the rest of the Setters will return to action this Saturday when they travel to take on Bentley University at 1 p.m.
