PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - Recent Pace University graduate
Alyssa Zeoli (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay East Fishkill), a standout with the Pace women's soccer team, has been chosen as the Setters' representative for the 2017 NCAA Woman of the Year Award, as announced by the NCAA on Tuesday.
Zeoli is one of a record number of female college athletes who have been nominated by NCAA member schools for the 2017 NCAA Woman of the Year award. She is one of 117 NCAA Division II representatives.
She set a program record with 28 career goals and finished second all-time with 63 career points. Zeoli earned numerous honors, including NE10 All-Conference Second Team this year, NSCAA All-East Region Third Team, and was named to the NE10 All-Championship Team after helping the Setters to a conference championship game appearance.
Zeoli was one of Pace's most active student-athletes in the community. She was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for four years, serving as President this year and helping to raise over $4,000 for Make a Wish Foundation. She has been an active member of Future Leaders in Health Care, assisted with FTC Robotics and supported Relay for Life. Zeoli was named a Darrell Halloran Memorial Award recipient, one of the most prestigious honors bestowed upon Pace student-athletes for athletic and scholastic achievement, leadership and team spirit.
Established in 1991 and now in its 27th year, the NCAA Woman of the Year award honors graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves in academics, athletics, service and leadership throughout their collegiate careers.
