PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Sophomore
Jenna Sanossian (Miller Place, NY/Rocky Point) fired in a second half goal to lift the Pace University field hockey team past Northeast-10 Conference opponent Franklin Pierce for the 2-1 victory at Peter X. Finnerty Field on Saturday afternoon. This was the second-straight game in which Sanossian scored a late game-winning goal for the Setters.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore
Jane Kasparian (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac) netted a goal with less than 40 seconds left in the first half to give the Setters a one-score lead heading into halftime. She deflected a powerful shot from sophomore
Halley Rose (Dauphin, PA/Central Dauphin) to get it past the keeper.
- Franklin Pierce's Lauren Grimard scored in the 53rd minute of the game to tie it up.
- Sanossian blasted in a goal at the 64:45 mark off a penalty corner from freshman
Rachel Beam (Red Hook, NY/Stissing Mountain), putting the Setters up 2-1 for the eventual win.
PACE LEADERS
- Kasparian and Sanossian scored the goals for the Setters in the win.
- Beam and Rose each tallied an assist.
- The Ravens registered four shots on goal, but junior goalkeeper
Lesly Sanchez Alvarez (Stamford, CT/Stamford) rejected three to help improve her record to 5-4 on the season.
RAVENS STATS
- Grimard scored the lone goal for the Ravens.
- Kenady Kelly registered an assist on Grimard's goal.
- Goalkeeper Meaghan Williams made two saves, but falls to 2-7 on the year with the loss.

SETTERS HIT THE ROAD
- Pace will take to the road for another NE-10 matchup on Wednesday, Oct. 5, when the Setters visit No. 9 American International College. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m.
- Pace then travels to Colchester, Vt. to face-off against Saint Michael's College in an NE-10 matchup on Saturday, Oct. 8. The game is slated for a 2 p.m. start.
