Andy Rondeau is heading into his 10th season in 2024 as the head coach of the Pace University football team. 

Coach Rondeau has been masterful in turning around Setter football during his tenure in Pleasantville. Following the Blue and Gold's record of 6-4 in 2019, Pace completed back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in more than 20 years.

Rondeau guided the Setters to their best season in the program’s Division II history in 2018. Pace went 7-3 in Rondeau’s fifth season, ending the year with three straight wins to finish third in the Northeast-10 Conference standings (highest-ever finish). The historic campaign culminated with 11 members of the Blue and Gold being selected to All-Conference teams. Running back Jhalen Bien-Aime became the program’s all-time leading rusher midway through the season, shattering the 34-year-old record by ending the year with 2,242 yards for his career.
 
In 2017, Rondeau led the Setters to their most home wins by the program since 2002. The Setters had four players earn Northeast-10 All-Conference honors. Bien-Aime, who led the conference in rushing, and Matthew Corrie, the NE10’s leading tackler, each earned First Team All-Conference honors. Offensive lineman Jorge Geronimo was named the conference’s Second Team, while wide receiver Daryl Nixon was appointed to the NE10 All-Rookie team.

During his first season with the Setters in 2014, Rondeau increased the wins total from the previous year and held opponents to ten less points per game. In addition to defensive statistics improving across the board, Rondeau saw three players earn NE10 All-Conference recognition. Tyler Owens and Jamir Gee were each named to the NE-10 Second Team, with Gee also earning ECAC All-Star honors. Bien-Aime was named to the NE-10 All-Rookie Team after leading the conference in both kick return and all-purpose yardage.

From 2012 to 2013, Rondeau was the defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach at the College of the Holy Cross. In addition to his coaching duties, he was also responsible for organizing community service initiatives for the football team as well as assisting with recruiting.

Prior to Holy Cross, Rondeau was part of restarting the football program at Old Dominion University where he was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach from 2007-11. During his time with the Monarchs, Rondeau helped lead the team to an overall record of 27-8 in his final three seasons, with the school earning its first-ever bid to the NCAA FCS Playoffs in 2011. Four players from his defense earned All-Colonial Athletic Association honors during the 2011 campaign, including CAA Defensive Player of the Year Ronnie Cameron. Old Dominion also ranked second in the CAA in both quarterback sacks and takeaways that season, while standing third in the conference in rushing defense.

In 2010, Rondeau’s defense ranked 11th in the nation in tackles for loss and 19th in quarterback sacks. In the first season of varsity play in 2009, Rondeau’s defense ranked eighth in the country in takeaways. His first two seasons at Old Dominion (2007 and 2008) were spent building the program from the ground up, prior to the team’s first season of varsity competition in 2009.

Prior to Old Dominion, Rondeau had stops at the University of Maine, University of Buffalo, University of Tennessee-Martin, North Dakota State University, University of Pittsburgh and Northeastern University.

Rondeau earned his bachelor’s degree in English from Syracuse in 1991. He and his wife, Tiffany, have two sons (Ryan and Jack) and two daughters (Alison and Kiley).
