Men’s Soccer’s Khan and Zapata Deliver Late in Victory Over Felician

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Trailing with less than 11 minutes remaining, Pace University Men's Soccer flipped the match with two late goals to earn a 2-1 comeback victory over Felician University Wednesday afternoon at Northwell Stadium. The Setters remained unbeaten at 4-0-2 and extended their winning streak to two matches with in-conference play just around the corner.

Joe Zweben was tested early and often in a scoreless opening half. The junior goalkeeper turned away five shots over the first 45 minutes, including three saves during an early Felician push. Pace generated four first-half attempts, with Alexander Dutra putting the Setters' lone shot on goal in the 33rd minute.

The match remained scoreless until Felician broke through at 66:28 to put Pace behind 1-0. The Setters began to find their response as the match entered its final stages, and Jevan Khan delivered the equalizer at 79:27. Daniel Santos initially forced a save, and Khan capitalized moments later to bring the match level.

Pace continued pressing rather than settling for the draw. Just under seven minutes after Khan's goal, Joshua Zapata provided the decisive strike at 86:23, putting the Setters in front 2-1 with less than four minutes remaining.

Zweben made two more stops after the go-ahead goal to close out a nine-save performance, his highest total through the first six matches of the season. Khan scored his third goal of the year, while Zapata registered his second. Pace finished with 13 shots, five on goal and four corner kicks.

The victory kept the Setters unbeaten through six matches to begin the 2026 campaign, with Pace allowing just four goals across its 4-0-2 start.

The Setters open Northeast 10 Conference play Sunday, Sept. 20, traveling to Manchester, NH, to face Saint Anselm College at 1:00 p.m.
