Men’s Soccer Earns Draw Against Chestnut Hill

LAFAYETTE HILL, PA – Daniel Santos erased a one-goal deficit in the second half as Pace University Men's Soccer played Chestnut Hill College to a 1-1 draw Wednesday night at Victory Field. The result moved the Setters to 2-0-2 on the season.

Pace generated chances from the opening minutes, forcing three saves within the first 13 minutes. Santos accounted for two of those attempts on goal as the Setters looked for the early breakthrough. Chestnut Hill eventually struck first in the 43rd minute, scoring at 42:25 to take a 1-0 advantage into halftime.

The Blue and Gold increased the pressure after the break, producing 12 shots and all five of their corner kicks over the final 45 minutes. Pace's push paid off at 61:21 when Santos found the back of the net unassisted to pull the Setters even at 1-1.

Pace continued searching for the go-ahead goal following the equalizer. Eric Garcia generated multiple attempts during the closing stretch, while Santos put another shot on target in the 86th minute, but Chestnut Hill kept the match level through the final whistle.

Santos led the Setters with seven shots, placing five on goal and scoring Pace's lone goal. Ali Hasanein added three shots with two on target, while Peter Magnuson III put one of his two attempts on frame. Joe Zweben made five saves across 90 minutes. Pace finished with a 20-13 advantage in shots and an 8-6 edge in shots on goal.
